Houston, a city of South East Texas that, with its population of over two million, is the fourth most populated center in the whole of U.S. Usually associated with this city with are the latest advances in clinical treatement and health research. Such fame is well deserved, and largely due to the Texas Medical Center, considered the largest hospital complex in the world The Texas Medical Center (TMC) contains the largest concentration of world health and research institutions.
The TMC sits in an area of 28 square kilometers, where at least 100 buildings and 42 healthcare centers are located. Hospitals, Research Centers, Universities and specialised libraries and even hotels, conform this gigantic medical marvel.
The magnitude of personnel movement is amazing. Its streets and more than 44.000 car-parking lots, surrounded by green areas, make possible the circulation of more than 65.300 workers, 11.000 nurses, 26.000 full-time students, but specially the five million patients that each year are attended and tended for at its facilities.
